With a 23-year history in Seneca and now five locations in Joplin, People’s Bank of Seneca is bringing its trusted hometown banking experience to more people than ever. For the bank’s leadership in Joplin, keeping that small-town feel is so important. Greg Golden, executive vice president; JE Cruse, vice president; and Amy Gannaway, loan officer and assistant vice president, all agreed building one-on-one relationships with customers to help them achieve their financial goals is what it’s all about.

“When I joined People’s Bank 10.5 years ago, I knew I wanted to be part of a small community bank,” said Cruse. “I have always enjoyed having the opportunity to work closely with clients and build relationships – that personalized experience is how I would want to be treated, so that’s what I strive to give back.” Especially when it comes to helping clients achieve dreams of home or business ownership – that’s when Cruse, Golden and Gannaway love seeing their customers shine.

Golden, who has been in banking in Joplin since the early 1990s, has been instrumental in helping clients’ business dreams flourish. “Some people I made a loan to just get started in business 20 years ago are now operating businesses with multiple locations,” he said. “To have seen that happen for them is great and one of the most satisfying parts of what I do.”

When it comes to purchasing a new home, Gannaway always puts herself in her clients’ shoes. “The most rewarding aspect of my job is helping people purchase a home without the loan process becoming too overwhelming,” she said. “I strive to make it as pleasant and stress free as possible. I don’t want the mortgage loan process to overshadow the excitement of purchasing a home!”
