Each Depositor Now insured Up to $250,000 by FDIC

FDIC deposit insurance temporarily increased from $100,000 to $250,000 per depositor through 12/31/13. On January 1, 2014, the standard insurance amount will return to $100,000 per depositor for all account categories except for IRAs and other certain retirement accounts (including IRAs) which will remain at $250,000 per depositor.

Peoples Bank of Seneca is participating in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Under that program, through December 31, 2010, all noninterest-bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account. In addition, any interest-bearing transaction accounts with interest rates of 0.50 percent or less are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account until June 30, 2010. Effective July 1, 2010, this coverage will apply to interest-bearing transaction accounts with interest rates of 0.25 percent or less. Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.
